DeltaVu, invented by DeltaPix in Denmark (patent pending), is a pioneering technique to increase the resolution of a digital camera dramatically and with the ability to capture details, which are much smaller than the size of the active area of a single pixel. This is achieved by moving the sensor only fraction of the size of the pixel between each image capture with pixels heavily overlapping each other and then combining the captured images intelligently. By using the precise information of the position of the sensor, at each image capture, a new image with unseen details is constructed through intensive calculation of the difference between the pixels of the individual images captured. The resulting image contains astonishing details and presents clearly objects much smaller than the size of an individual pixel. The resolution can in theory be increased unlimited by adjusting the pixel overlap, but in practical use it is restricted by the resolving power of the optical system and physical limitations of the sensor it self.
